The FBL Research Awards are part of our commitment to excellence in research, leadership and research supervision. The Industry Engagement Awards recognise the importance of being industry connected.

This award encourages upcoming researchers and acknowledges their research output. The New Researcher of the Year category is open to Early Career Researchers at Academic Level C or below.

This award recognises research activities that demonstrate leadership (including mentoring), result in significant research outcomes, make a contribution to FBL research culture and collaboration, and increase external recognition by attracting interest both nationally and globally.

This award recognises and rewards excellent HDR research supervision. Applications should address an FBL staff member’s combined supervision activities, where they have supervised more than one HDR student, in the relevant year.

FBL staff may submit a maximum of one journal article that was published (in print or online) in 2022 or the last quarter of 2021.

This award takes into account the variety of ways that researchers promote FBL research beyond academia, and aims to foster a culture that values engagement and impact activities with organisations – be they governmental, public or private sector, or not-for-profit. The award does not focus on one particular activity or output, but rather the overall contribution nominees have made to promote FBL and Curtin research during 2021.
