English proficiency

Curtin University’s requirement to demonstrate English proficiency (IELTS 7.0 in all four bands: reading, writing, speaking, listening) depends on the university from which your highest degree was awarded. Please forward any available IELTS or TOEFL test reports with your initial enquiry. Applications may be processed before English proficiency requirements are met. If all other admission criteria have been satisfied, the letter of offer will be conditional upon meeting English requirements before formally enrolling.

Closing dates

There are no applications for admission to the MPhil and PhD. However, closing dates apply for international and domestic scholarships. Scholarship applications require evidence of admission (a letter of offer). Enquiries received less than two months before a scholarship deadline may not be processed in time.

International applicants seeking scholarships

Australian Government Research Training Program scholarships are highly competitive, and favour applicants with a research degree (honours, MPhil) and multiple peer-reviewed publications. Please check the Scholarships website for funding opportunities open to international applicants. Enquiries from sponsored international students are welcome; please include a copy of your sponsorship letter.
