Our research forms an NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence on improving cardiovascular outcomes in the Australian population. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for all Australians through innovative clinical research and education.

Dr Jacquita Affandi
Dr Affandi’s research focuses on premature immune and cardiac ageing related to cardiovascular disease. She manages the Healthy Living Clinic overseeing clinical trials and research projects.
Dr Jun Chih
Dr Chih’s research interest is in lifestyle interventions, psychosocial factors, general health, mental health, cancer and effective education practices. She is actively involved with assisting clinicians in study and trial designs, and data analyses.
Professor Christopher Reid
Professor Reid is a cardiovascular epidemiologist focusing on cardiovascular disease prevention. His major research interests include clinical outcome registries, randomised controlled trials, and epidemiological cohort studies. He participates as a WHO consultant for prevention of cardiovascular disease in Mongolia, Vietnam and the West Pacific region.
Dr Natalie Ward
Dr Ward is a scientist with research experience in coordinating human observational and interventional trials, animal studies and laboratory based analysis. She also has experience teaching anatomy, physiology, human structure and function.
Dr Daniel Xu
Dr Xu is a general practitioner and researcher with particular interest s in cardiovascular, men’s and women’s population health and epidemiology. He also provides medical oversight for clinical trials in the centre.
