Biomedical and clinical science
Health Sciences has considerable research expertise and international recognition in the biomedical and clinical science areas, from basic discovery projects through to clinical investigations and translational outcomes.
The Curtin Health Innovation Research Institute (CHIRI) unites teams across public health and biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences at a $35 million research and education facility at the University’s Perth Campus.
Our researchers attract National Health Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and Australian Research Council (ARC) funding, and collaborate with national and international partners.
The school’s research falls mainly under the faculty theme of Biosciences and Metabolic Health, and includes the following sub-areas.
Biomolecular interactions
The structure, function and interactions of biomolecules of importance in health and disease mechanisms.
Cancer
Pancreatic cancer and diabetes.
Clinical cardiovascular research
Our research focuses on improving cardiovascular outcomes in the Australian population.
Immunology
