As transition becomes ever more urgent, there have been increasing calls for clarity about what exactly ‘Just Transition’ means and how we can work towards it. Professor Tavis Potts’ recent work in North-East Scotland has identified and developed indicators to measure Just Transition in local communities. Tavis will discuss his findings and how they relate to an effective and equitable transition to a Net Zero future.

We are keen to bring together energy researchers from across the university to participate in a workshop to brainstorm new ideas for research. It will be an opportunity to not only meet other energy researchers but also hear about the great work that is being undertaken. PhD students are also welcome to participate on the day. We are hoping that we may be able to provide some small seed funding to develop one or two of these ideas post-workshop if there is interest from researchers.
