Inspiring the next generation in space science.
Space science and spaceflight inspires. SSTC is committed to bringing the excitement that we feel, working in this field, to members of the public and the young scientists and engineers of the future. We also regularly engage with media to bring our science research findings to the public and inspire the next generation in STEM, planetary science and space engineering.
Our staff are passionate about space and learning, and lead units and space specialisation courses and internships at Curtin for science and engineering students, and outreach events and summer holiday programs for WA schools.
In our undergraduate units we cover everything from first year planetary science (GEOL1007) through to space systems design (AERO3000), earth observation from space (SPAT3013) and a project to design and building your own spacecraft (AERO3001). For our postgraduates we provide exciting career pathways and projects in all areas of planetary science, to create a job-ready workforce for space.
