Mr. Golder is currently doing his Ph.D. in the School of Earth and Planetary science at Curtin university. He did his BSc degree in Fisheries (Honours) from the Fisheries and Marine Resource Technology (FMRT) Discipline at Khulna University, Bangladesh, in 2018. Later, he completed his MS degree in Coastal and Marine Science (Master’s) from the same university in 2020. During his master’s thesis, he received the National Science and Technology (NST) fellowship from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Bangladesh. Besides, he was awarded the prestigious DAAD Scholarship to pursue his master’s in Marine Biology at the University of Bremen, Germany. He was also the 2nd-place winner at the Jupyter Notebook Competition led by EUMETSAT, a European Agency in charge of operational satellite missions. His research mainly focuses on ocean color remote sensing, coastal zone management, marine ecology, and biological oceanography.

Mingxing is currently a joint PhD student between Curtin University (Australia) and Wuhan University (China). She was awarded a CSC scholarship to study abroad and joined the RSSRG on October 2023. Her research focuses on remote sensing of phytoplankton chlorophyll and other quantities in the Antarctic Polynyas.

Jielong earned his M.Sc. in Surveying and Mapping from the College of Surveying and Geo-informatics at Tongji University, Shanghai. He is pursuing a Ph.D. in Surveying and Mapping from the same institution. In addition to his academic pursuits, Jielong serves as a Research Associate in this distinguished group. His research primarily revolves around extreme hydrological events (e.g., floods and droughts) in river basins using GRACE and GRACE-FO data. Furthermore, he is interested in deep learning techniques for reconstructing and forecasting historical and future water storage, respectively. He also works to reveal the gainers and losers of water storage within river basins through multi-sourced datasets, such as satellites, reanalysis, and hydrological models.

Rui is currently pursuing his PhD in Remote Sensing of Resources and Environment. He was awarded the CSC Scholarship in 2023, and is currently a joint PhD student of Curtin University and Chengdu University of Technology, and joined RSSRG in February 2024. His research area is the numerical remote sensing extraction of carbon sinks/sources and carbon efficiency of alpine grassland ecosystems to analyze the changes in ecosystem carbon sequestration capacity and its distribution pattern and to quantify and assess ecosystem service functioning.

Maryam is a PhD researcher with a background in Agricultural Engineering and Soil Science. She completed her bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering at Isfahan University of Technology, Iran. Building upon this foundation, she pursued her Master’s in Soil Science at Shahed University, Iran. Driven by her interest in interdisciplinary research, which allows the exploration of innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges, she decided to advance her education in remote sensing. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Spatial Science at Curtin University, focusing on investigating the effect of climate change on water resources and crop production using GRACE and GRACE-FO data, driven by a passion for research and a dedication to positively impacting sustainable resource management practices.

Fawziah is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Spatial Sciences at Curtin University, Perth, Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Science in GIS and Mapping from King Abdulaziz University, and a Master of Science in GIS from the University of Leeds, England. With over eight years of experience, Fawziah has been serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Social Studies & GIS at Hafar Al-Batin University, Saudi Arabia, since 2013. Her expertise lies in geographic information systems, spatial analysis, climate change, and networks.
Her research interests focus on exploring The Causes of the Growth of Inequality in Mortality Rates based on Gender and Socio-Demographics and the Potential for Improving Health through Access to Recreation Using GIS. Fawziah’s expertise spans various areas, including remote sensing and tourism zone management. Notably, she has conducted significant research on flood hazards in Jeddah using remote sensing and GIS-based transport studies.
Fawziah is proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, and JavaScript, and is skilled in various GIS software including ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, and MapInfo. Additionally, she possesses a strong background in web mapping technologies, machine learning, and deep learning.
