Dr Rhiannon Halse

Dr Halse is an exercise physiologist whose research interests focus on diet and physical activity intervention, exercise in the management of gestational diabetes mellitus, maternal physical activity and health and post-exercise energy intake and appetite regulation

Associate Professor Deborah Kerr

Deborah’s research is focused primarily on improving diet through behaviour change interventions. Over the past 10 years she has been working with her international collaborators to find technology-based solutions to improving dietary assessment which has resulted in the development of a mobile food record.

Professor Jane Scott

Jane’s research interests are in public health nutrition and nutritional epidemiology and she is recognised internationally for her research into determinants of early childhood feeding practices, in particular breastfeeding. She has led the development and trialling of Milk Man the world’s first breastfeeding smartphone app for fathers.

Dr Andrea Begley

Dr Begley’s research focusses on food literacy practice and policy, use of cooking skills to improve nutrition and health and designing and evaluating Nutrition Education programs with a particular focus on implementation fidelity.

Dr Karin Clark

Dr Clark’s research is focussed on lipoprotein metabolism and cardiovascular disease risk and diet & lifestyle modifications to reduce risk of cardiovascular disease.

Dr Tony James

Dr James’ research is focussed on insulin resistance, its involvement in lipoprotein metabolism and cardiovascular disease risk factors. He has been involved in dietary and lifestyle intervention studies aimed at improving insulin resistance and hence lipoprotein metabolism and cardiovascular disease risk factors.

Associate Professor Mario Soares

Mario is a physician-scientist with a formal grounding in human nutrition and physiology. He has a long standing interest in human energy metabolism, specifically the measurement of resting and postprandial metabolic events as they pertain to energy balance, insulin sensitivity and endothelial function.
