Curtin University is proud to host the 2018 Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) Eminent Speaker presentation, which will explore the science of the natural wonders of Western Australia.

John Curtin Distinguished Professor Kingsley Dixon, will discuss why Western Australia is one of the 10 most biodiverse regions on the planet – from unique marine life to terrestrial environments that span deserts and cool forests.

Enriched by virtue of its splendid isolation – on the most remote of continents – Western Australia, and the southwest in particular, has chartered a remarkable course of natural wonderment. Almost weekly, there are discoveries of new organisms from orchids to microbes.
