Higher Degree by Research (HDR)

The current round for RTP scholarships starting in 2027 is now open. Please look at the Science (Astronomy) and Engineering project descriptions below.

The application is a two stage process:

  • Review the research projects below and submit an Expression of Interest (EoI). The EoIs are due 31 July 2026, but you are encouraged to contact potential supervisors well before then.
  • If nominated by a supervisor for their project, proceed with a full scholarship application by 31 August 2026.

Through our engineering research program, we are advancing radio astronomy through the development and application of novel technology, techniques and instrumentation.
