🎉 Congratulations to CIRA Phd Student, Ahmad Raza on national award recognition.

We’re proud to share that Ahmad Raza has been named a finalist in the “Best Land Technical Specialist Under 35” category at the Defence & National Security Workforce Awards 2026.

Ahmad’s nomination recognises his PhD research investigating latch-up mechanisms in CMOS technologies, advancing our understanding of how semiconductor devices behave under different electrical conditions. His work explored polarity-dependent triggering, developed improved testing methods to prevent device damage during experiments, and examined how transient voltage pulses can initiate sustained latch-up in integrated circuits.

The research was published in 2025 and presented internationally at the Asia-Pacific EMC Symposium 2025 and Australian Microwave Symposium 2025.

The finalist list can be seen here
We wish Ahmad the very best for the awards ceremony in Sydney this April.
