Postgraduate orientation

The Orientation Session for Doctoral and Masters Postgraduate Students (Research only) sets the scene for research study at Curtin and includes hints for surviving your first year. It is also recommended that you attend other activities being offered around the university so you get familiar with the campus, your specific School/Department and key areas such as the Library.

Presenters:  Various, led by the Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research Training.

The Graduate Research School will hold an Orientation session during Orientation week preceding the start of semester 1. The Program will include a summary of the major student milestones and the resources/services at Curtin important to HDR students. Included are presentations from the Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research Training, experienced supervisors, the Library, Curtin Careers; The Learning Centre; and CUPSA.

Resources including copies of the Powerpoint presentations and the iLecture recordings from the last Orientation session can be viewed on the Postgraduate Orientation Resources webpage. These resources are updated following each Semester Orientation (resources are currently available for the Semester 2, 2016 Orientation).
