Our Projects
Curtin staff and students have an excellent track record in conducting advanced, industry-relevant research. In June 2005, the Council of the University adopted a formal Strategy for the commercialisation of research outcomes, providing a clear mandate for commercialisation as a legitimate third role for the University alongside teaching and research. At the same time the Council approved the establishment of the Curtin Pre-Seed Commercialisation Fund, providing up to $5 million to support the commercialisation of Curtin research. The Pre-Seed fund gives the University the ability to invest in its own technology, and ensures that projects can get the funding required to reach 'investor ready' stage. The end result is a large number of products and solutions that offer real commercial potential and provide significant benefits to the community.
We are proud of our achievements to date, and invite you to browse the IP Commercialisation Brochure [.pdf 2.3MB], which showcases some of the excellent projects that have resulted from the commercialisation of Curtin technology. Many of these projects have become companies which are making sales in the international market, while others represent exciting research outcomes which have yet to be spun out.
