‘Name The Driverless Bus’ competition terms and conditions

  1. Instructions on how to enter and other details contained within promotions for this competition form part of the conditions of entry.
  2. By entering the competition, entrants agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
  3. The terms and conditions of this competition are governed by the laws of the State of Western Australia.
  4. The competition is being run by Curtin University, GPO Box U1987, Perth, Western Australia, 6845 (“Curtin”).
  5. The Curtin University ‘Name The Driverless Bus’ competition commences at 9:00am, Monday 20 March 2017, Australian Western Standard Time. To enter the competition, all entrants must:
    1. Make a bus name submission via the dedicated competition website. Submissions made as comments on social media posts will not be considered or accepted as competition submissions.
    2. Accurately complete all of the fields on the entry form located on the competition website between 9:00am Monday 20 March 2017, and 5:00pm Wednesday 29 March 2017, Australian Western Standard Time.
  6. Entry is free, other than the cost associated with accessing the website (which is the entrant’s responsibility).
  7. Curtin current staff and students, as well as the general public, are eligible to enter the competition.
  8. The closing date for entering the competition is 5:00pm, Wednesday 29 March 2017, Australian Western Standard Time.
  9. A panel of judges shall be appointed by the Office of Research and Development, Curtin. The Panel shall determine, in its sole discretion, the competition finalists. The Panel’s decision shall be final.
  10. Finalists’ and their bus name submissions will be announced on the current student Facebook page on Monday, 3 April 2017 where the one [1] competition winner will be determined via a public Facebook poll.
  11. The first prize winner will be announced on Friday 7 April 2017, Australian Western Standard Time.
  12. Prizes are not redeemable for cash or an alternative prize.
  13. Prizes are not transferrable.
  14. The name of the competition first prize winner will be published on the Curtin competition website, and Curtin’s main Facebook page at the conclusion of the competition. By entering into the competition the winner agrees to grant Curtin permission to use their full name, suburb and country on Curtin’s websites / social media platforms for up to six months following the draw.
  15. The first prize winner will be notified by email the week commencing 10 April 2017.
  16. The one (1) first prize winner shall receive one (1) $500 Coles Myer voucher only.
  17. The runner-up prize winner(s) shall receive a ride on the driverless bus for the one (1) winner and three (3) friends at a designated time as arranged by the Office of Research and Development and the winner(s).
  18. The prize winner(s) must provide photographic identification to collect and take receipt of prizes.
  19. The prize winner(s) are required to abide by the terms and conditions as presented.
  20. By entering this contest, you agree that you are over the age of 18 years, or if under 18, have your parent’s or legal guardian’s consent to enter.
  21. Curtin is not responsible in any manner whatsoever for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any financial costs incurred, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in or down-loading any materials in this promotion.
  22. Curtin accepts no responsibility and shall not be held legally liable or responsible for any accident, loss, injury or damage to any individual or property whether direct or indirect, whether in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise arising out of or in connection with the competition or the prize, either during or after the competition.
  23. Entry into this competition signifies acceptance of all conditions.
  24. Where personal details of entrants are provided as part of the competition, Curtin will comply with its privacy policy. Any and all personal information, including email addresses, collected at this website will be kept strictly confidential and will not be sold, reused, rented, loaned, or otherwise disclosed to any third party for any purpose whatsoever.
