Research Fields, Courses and Disciplines classification (RFCD) codes

These 6-digit codes (not ending in "00") are used by the University to report each year to the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) on the fields that Doctoral and Masters students are researching.

Although RFCD codes have been superseded by Field of Research (FOR) codes, the RFCD codes still apply to classify the research of postgraduate higher degree students in the student system (Student One). It is envisaged that the student system will updated in due course to incorporate FOR codes but until that time please quote the RFCD codes in the first instance.
