Curtin Research Fellowships

APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2010 INTAKE ARE NOW CLOSED. APPLICANTS WILL BE NOTIFIED OF THE OUTCOME IN MID NOVEMBER 2009.

The Fellowship scheme aims to attract high quality post doctoral researchers with excellent potential for providing future academic and research leadership at the University. The scheme was expanded as a major strategic development under the University's Research Management Plan 2006-2008. It is highly competitive and continues to be amongst the most prestigious Fellowship schemes in Australia.

Curtin University of Technology will offer up to thirteen Research Fellowships commencing in 2010.

  1. Early Career Researcher Fellowship: Up to five ECR Fellowships for suitably qualified applicants who received their PhD within the last five years
  2. Senior Research Fellowship: Up to eight SR Fellowships for suitably qualified applicants with more than five years post-doctoral experience.

Fellowships are for a period of 4 years, with the possibility of renewal. Preference will be given to applicants who are able to make significant contributions to the following targeted areas of research activity:

- Social Infrastructure and Built Environment - Mineral Chemistry
- Creativity and Communication - Environmental Science/Engineering
- Digital Ecosystems - Chronic Disease
- Energy Markets - Population Health
  - Emerging Sciences

Applications: Successful applicants will be appointed as a staff member within the Enrolling Area sponsoring the Fellowship application. It is therefore critical that the potential Fellow liaise directly with the appropriate Head of Enrolling Area prior to submitting an application to ensure that the proposed project and activities align with the Area's Strategic Plan. Applications without the signature of the appropriate Head of Enrolling Area to confirm support will not be considered.

The Fellowships are not restricted to Australian citizens.
Applicants must have completed a research doctoral degree.
