Research ethics

Before conducting research that involves humans or animals as subjects, you must receive approval from the relevant Ethics Committee.

Human research ethics

All research involving human subjects will have ethics approval following evaluation by a Human Research Ethics Committee. If researchers are engaged in any project involving human subjects where current ethics approval has not been provided, the research will be terminated immediately. Non-compliance with these requirements represents research misconduct which will be investigated.

The Human Research Ethics Committee will not grant retrospective ethics approval.

Animal research ethics

All research involving animal subjects will have ethics approval following evaluation by an Animal Ethics Committee. If researchers are engaged in any project involving animal subjects where current ethics approval has not been provided, the research will be terminated immediately. Non-compliance with these requirements represents research misconduct which will be investigated.
