Curtin Research Fellowships

The Fellowship scheme aims to attract high quality researchers with excellent potential for providing future academic and research leadership at the University. Curtin University of Technology offered up to fifteen prestigious Research/Teaching and Research only Fellowships to commence in 2008.

Guidelines and application forms for the next round of fellowships (to commence in 2009) will be available on Friday 5th September 2008. The closing date will be Friday 31st October 2008. In the meantime, the Guidelines, Application form and other information for the 2007 round (to commence in 2008) are available below:

The Curtin Research Fellowship scheme was expanded as a major strategic development under the University's Research Management Plan 2006-2008 and is highly competitive and amongst the most prestigious Fellowship schemes in Australia .

The 2007 call for applications refered to two Fellowship streams:

1) Research and Teaching Fellowships: Up to five research and teaching fellowships for a period of up to five years with the possibility of a tenured position.

2) Targeted Research Fellowships: Up to ten Research only fellowships for a period of four years, with the possibility of renewal. The targeted areas are Health Economics; Innovation in Social Marketing Advertising and Policy; Applied Economics; Care Management; Nutritional Epidemiology or Nutrition Science; Sustainability; Cultural Industries; System design and optimization (with preference in the design of internal architectures for super-computers); Bio-fluid mechanics; Chemical Sensors and Biosensors; and Corrosion Science and Engineering.

Applications: Successful applicants will be appointed as a staff member within the Enrolling Area sponsoring the Fellowship application. It is therefore critical that the potential Fellow liaise directly with the appropriate Head of Enrolling Area prior to submitting an application to ensure that the proposed project and activities align with the Area's Strategic Plan. Applications without the signature of the appropriate Head of Enrolling Area to confirm support will not be considered .

The Fellowships are not restricted to Australian citizens.

Applicants must have completed a research doctoral degree.
