"Maximising Your Career" Short Course Information

The Australian Technology Network's Learning Maximising Your Career (ATN-MYC) project is a collaborative venture across the five universities that form the ATN (Curtin University of Technology, Queensland University of Technology, RMIT University, the University of South Australia and the University of Technology, Sydney).

The universities in this network share a heritage of working with industry and use that knowledge to provide postgraduate research students with the opportunity to increase their awareness of key issues that increase their employability.

The "Maximising Your Career" Short Course, like the ATN-LEAP Program, provides the opportunity to expand your cohort of research colleagues and is dedicated to meeting the needs of research students and aims to help participants prepare for their career and empower them with skills and knowledge.

Course schedule

This is the schedule for the moderated modules. To participate in one of these rounds you will need to register by contacting Curtin's project administrator via Graduate.Studies@curtin.edu.au once the offered modules are advertised (usually two weeks before the commencement date).

Access information

  1. The ATN-MYC website is located via QUT's website (bookmark this page). Scroll to the 'QuickLinks' box at the bottom of QUT's homepage and select 'QUT Blackboard'. This will take you to the QUT login page.
  2. Select 'Non-QUT Users Login' and press 'Enter'. 'Higher Education Australia' will be highlighted, press 'Continue'.
  3. Under the heading 'Choose from a List', locate and highlight 'Curtin University of Technology' and press 'Select'.
  4. A dialogue box will appear prompting you for your Curtin username and password - this is your OASIS username and password*. The first time you do this you will receive a message that your account is being processed and to login again in approximately 30 minutes, after which time your account will have been activated.
  5. After waiting the 30 minutes, login again following the above procedure. A screen will appear asking you to accept the Attribute Release Policy.
  6. You should then be redirected to your personal ATN Blackboard homepage. Under the section 'ATN Blackboard Sites, find the ATN-MYC heading and press enter. This will take you to the home page for ATN-MYC.

*(When you visit the Blackboard page of the QUT website you will be prompted for your username and password, which is the same as your Curtin OASIS username and password. Please see section below 'Students - OASIS' for information about how to obtain these details if you are not sure of your OASIS username/password. If you experience problems and cannot access the OASIS site, please contact the relevant support teams as directed below.)

Certificate of participation

You will be required to complete a set amount of work to receive a Certificate of Participation. The module moderators will outline these requirements at the start of each module.
