Welcome from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Development
Recent years has seen significant growth in the research and development activities of Curtin University of Technology.
Whilst the University has a strong focus towards application driven research, it continues to support curiosity driven research and is motivated by a desire to have a positive impact on the community - local, national and global.
At the end of 2006 the Vice Chancellor announced the five broad themes that encapsulate Curtin's current research strengths, and the areas where we will continue to concentrate our efforts. These Areas of Expertise may be found on our website.
Curtin has an overarching research objective of solving real world problems through strong strategic partnerships with industry, government and the community. Collaborative activities and partnerships have proven to be vital to the growth of Curtin's research activities in the past, and we will continue to pursue these alliances in the future.
I invite you to explore Curtin's research activities, many of which have been showcased in our research magazine - R&D Now.
