Commercialisation Advisory Group
The CAG has been formed to provide advice to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Development) on key matters related to commercialisation of University Intellectual Property.
Membership of the CAG includes the Chief Financial Officer, General Counsel, and Director, Legal and Compliance and other senior Research & Development staff. The CAG is chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Development).
The Director, IP Commercialisation is responsible for ensuring the CAG is kept informed of all key matters related to critical milestones in the commercialisation of University Intellectual Property.
The CAG provides specific recommendations to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Development) on various matters. These include:
- Assignment of Intellectual Property
- Approval of Licensing Agreements
- Patent applications
- Pre-seed and other funding submissions
- Recommendations relating to the disposal or otherwise of shareholdings in companies which are commercialising University IP
- Recommendations for the formation of spin-out Companies
